Yo Goes Yard; Muting Berman & the HR Derby

Figured I’d get you on that clever header. There is no such thing as a brief HR Derby on All-Star eve. This thing runs for what seems like an eternity but I’ll give it to AL Captain Robinson Cano, picking Oakland A’s slugger Yoenis Cespedes was genius.

The Cuban Missile crushed 32 home runs at CitiField and I can only imagine where commentator Chris Berman said they were headed. You see, I turned the volume all the way down and watched in silence just to avoid hearing Berman’s voice.

Cespedes won’t even be playing in the actual game tonight, primarily because of his paltry .225 batting average. He does have 15 home runs (none since June 21), 43 RBIs and 46 runs scored for the AL West-leading Athletics.

Will I watch the game tonight? Maybe a little bit but just like the HR Derby, it’s a marathon and being home with Nolan all day, daddy needs his zzz’s.
