Pitchers and catchers reported this week for Spring Training, a time every baseball has eagerly waited for since October. With that comes yet another sweet collection of caps players will wear until the end of March, so the beauty these hats behold is fleeting.
Here’s my list of the top five 2016 Spring Training hats, in no particular order.
Toronto Blue Jays
Dark blue cap differs from their traditional blue, but the white outline is neat and the homage to Canada is front and center.
Tampa Bay Rays
The all-powder blue version is a tick above this one, but I’ve always loved their color scheme even though nothing on the hat says ‘Rays.”
Intimidation factor is high with t his one. And with the addition of Zack Greinke and Shelby Miller, the D’Backs should be contenders in the NL West.
I’ve always loved the purple in their logo and this hat incorporates is seamlessly as it outlines the Rockies with a baseball flying out.
Chicago White Sox
Bringing back the ‘Batter Up’ logo they sported from the mid-seventies to 1990, this hat is perfect, except the black might get a little hot out in the AZ sunshine.
